Believing the men were real officers, Mrs. Fuseini went to the Dambai Divisional Command to report the case but was told the police had no knowledge of the incident.
She now suspects the abductors to be two men of Fulani origin with whom her husband had an ongoing conflict. The men had previously accused her husband of shooting at them but claimed they were protected by spiritual powers that made them “bulletproof.”
Mrs. Fuseini said she and her husband saw the same suspects on the road earlier that evening, and neighbours later confirmed spotting the men and a black pick-up truck in the area. Despite filing a detailed report, no arrests have been made.
She is now appealing to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the National Security, and the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to help locate her missing husband.
The Assembly Member for the Lakeside Electoral Area, Mawuli Atali, said he received a distress call about the Dambai abduction case while at Dodi-Papase Hospital. Although he arrived late, he promised to follow up with the police for updates.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) John Nchor, Acting Oti Regional Public Affairs Officer, confirmed the incident and assured residents that investigations are underway. He promised that the police will share their findings soon and ensure transparency throughout the process.
The Dambai abduction case has left the community anxious, with residents urging authorities to intensify their search and bring Mohammed Fuseini home safely.
