The African Union (AU) has announced the launch of its 2025 Internship Program, offering young Africans a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop essential professional skills.

As a premier Pan-African organization, the AU plays a vital role in promoting unity, cooperation, and sustainable development across the continent. The internship program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the AU’s operations and contribute to key projects across various departments.

The program is open to citizens of AU member states who are enrolled in at least their final year of a bachelor’s degree program or have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in a relevant field. Applicants must be no older than 32, fluent in at least one official AU language, and possess high moral integrity.

Successful candidates will be engaged in a full-time internship for three months, with the possibility of a one-time extension. Although the internship is unpaid, participants will gain invaluable experience, develop essential skills, and build valuable connections that can support future career growth.

The AU Internship Program offers a unique opportunity for young Africans to contribute to the continent’s progress, develop their professional and personal competencies, and become part of a network of like-minded individuals committed to Africa’s development.

Applications are now open, and interested candidates can submit their applications through the AU’s online application system. The deadline for application submission is yet to be announced.
