Asante Kotoko has officially confirmed the Albert Amoah transfer to Libyan side Al Ahli Benghazi, marking the end of the striker’s successful spell with the Porcupine Warriors.

In a statement released on Friday night, the club announced:

“We can confirm the permanent transfer of forward Albert Amoah to Libyan side Al Ahli Benghazi. Asante Kotoko is grateful to Albert for his service and achievements with us. We wish him the very best for the future.”

The confirmation came just hours after Kotoko’s 5–1 defeat to Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club in the CAF Confederation Cup final qualifying round in Casablanca. The loss sealed a 6–1 aggregate exit following a 1–0 defeat in the first leg in Accra.

Amoah leaves as Kotoko’s top scorer this season, netting four goals in five matches. The forward, who joined from Great Olympics, enjoyed a standout 2024–25 campaign, scoring 12 goals in 28 league appearances.

On the continental front, the 24-year-old striker impressed with two goals in four appearances during the Confederation Cup preliminary rounds, despite Kotoko’s early elimination.

With the Albert Amoah transfer completed, Guinean striker Donzo Morifing will now shoulder the attacking duties. However, he is yet to find the back of the net in seven matches across all competitions.

Amoah’s move to Al Ahli Benghazi marks a new chapter in his career, as he looks to continue his goal-scoring form on the North African stage.
