Teachers must look beyond the classroom to improve their earnings, says Atiwa West District Chief Executive Johnson Amo Anom.
He shared this advice at Kwabeng during the 54th district conference of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), which also marked 50 years of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
Mr. Anom explained that teacher salaries often fall short of meeting everyday needs. He urged educators to consider side jobs to better support themselves and their families.
The conference ran under the theme, “GES at 50: Achievements, Teacher Motivation, Challenges, and the Way Forward.” It celebrated key milestones while addressing long-standing challenges in the education sector.
Speakers at the event called on GES to improve how they implement programs. They also asked for better logistics to support teaching initiatives.
