Residents of Kwahu Behenase, near Kwahu Fodoa in the Eastern Region, are in shock following the gruesome killing of a 52-year-old woman, identified as Yaa Atua, in what is believed to be a Behenase witchcraft attack.
According to eyewitness Kojo Aboagye, the suspect — a young man thought to be in his early thirties — allegedly accused the victim of witchcraft before attacking her with a cutlass and fleeing the scene.
Speaking to Adom News, the deceased’s brother, Agya Noah, confirmed that the family promptly reported the incident to the police and is waiting for the outcome of investigations.
The murder has sparked widespread fear and outrage among residents, who are calling for urgent action to bring the suspect to justice and ensure safety within the community.
Meanwhile, police say investigations into the Behenase witchcraft attack are ongoing, and efforts are underway to track down and arrest the perpetrator.
