President Joe Biden is departing office with a record-low approval rating of 36%, matching his all-time worst. A majority of 61% of Americans view his presidency as a failure.

The CNN survey reveals even lower approval for his handling of immigration (31%), foreign affairs (32%), and the economy (33%). Less than half approve of his efforts in environmental policy (44%), healthcare (43%), and protecting democracy (46%).

Biden’s favorability rating stands at an extremely low 33%, with 58% holding an unfavorable view. Comparatively, past Democratic presidents Clinton and Obama were seen as successful by 68% and 65% respectively.

Factors such as severe inflation, record immigration rates, foreign policy mistakes like the Afghanistan withdrawal and the Chinese spy balloon incident contributed to his low ratings.

A Gallup poll indicates that half of Americans anticipate Biden will be remembered as a poor to below-average president.
