An explosion at a vulcanizer shop in New Nkusukum, near Volta Bar in Mfantseman Municipality, has left three people injured. The incident occurred during tyre inflation and caused serious harm to those nearby.

All victims are receiving treatment at Roman Hospital in Mankessim. One of them, Richard, believed to be in his 30s, is in critical condition with severe abdominal injuries.

Eyewitness Isaac Opoku told Adom News that he was unloading goods near the shop when the blast happened. He and others ran to help and found Richard lying on the ground with his intestines exposed. The other two victims had broken legs.

One of the injured individuals said they were inflating a tyre when the machine suddenly exploded. The cause of the explosion remains unclear, and authorities are expected to begin investigations.

Local residents, shocked by the event, are urging vulcanizer operators to improve safety at their workstations to avoid future accidents.
