Hafiz Dauda, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asutifi North in the Ahafo Region, has vowed to tackle the alarming rise in motorbike accidents. He plans to introduce strict measures to address the issue, especially in the district capital, Kenyasi.

Dauda said many riders, both okada and private, overspeed and ignore traffic rules. He described the situation as dangerous and unacceptable. He noted that these reckless habits often lead to fatal accidents.

“Riders usually survive the crashes, but pedestrians and vendors lose their lives,” he stated. He blamed irresponsible riding for putting innocent people at risk.

Dauda, who also chairs the District Security Council (DISEC), said he would soon roll out new bylaws. These laws will regulate motorbike use and promote public safety.

He emphasized his commitment to restoring order on the roads and protecting lives across the district.
