A Delta Air Lines plane crashed at Toronto Pearson Airport on Monday, injuring 18 people, including three critically. The incident occurred while the aircraft, a CRJ-900 jet, was landing after departing from Minneapolis.

The flight, Delta Connection 4819, was operated by Endeavor Air and carried 80 people, including four crew members and 76 passengers. Pictures from the scene show the plane upside down and mangled on a snow-covered runway.

According to Peel Regional Paramedic Services Superintendent Lawrence Saindon, the three critically injured passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to local hospitals. The remaining 15 injured passengers suffered minor injuries, including cuts and scrapes.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported that all passengers and crew were immediately evacuated after the crash. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada will lead the investigation and provide updates.

Toronto Pearson Airport operations were temporarily paused following the crash but resumed by 5 p.m. The airport confirmed that all passengers and crew were accounted for.

This incident comes amid a turbulent period for air travel, with recent crashes reported in South Korea and Kazakhstan.
