Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Dr Randy Abbey, has praised his team members for their sacrifice, unity, and dedication that led to Ghana’s successful qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The achievement represents a strong comeback for the national team after missing out on qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). That disappointment prompted the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to dissolve the previous committee led by Mark Addo and appoint a new team under Dr Abbey’s leadership.

The restructured management committee includes former national team captain Stephen Appiah as Vice Chairman, along with Samuel Aboabire, Moses Armah Parker, and Dr Richard Nsenkyire as members. Together, they worked closely to restore the team’s focus and confidence.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Dr Abbey expressed gratitude to his colleagues for their teamwork and commitment.

“I am impressed with the working relationship with my members. Everybody wants to bring something on board,” he said.

Dr Abbey emphasized that every member made personal sacrifices to ensure Ghana’s qualification, describing the journey as both challenging and rewarding.

Ghana’s qualification secures the nation’s fifth appearance at the global tournament. The Black Stars will find out their group-stage opponents on December 5, as preparations continue ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, to be hosted across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
