Edudzi Tameklo, the newly appointed Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), is committed to driving change within the organization. During a speech to NPA staff in Accra on January 27, 2025, he outlined his vision to transform the petroleum sector and ensure it aligns with national goals.
Tameklo stated that the NPA cannot continue with its current methods. He emphasized that innovation is crucial for the organization to thrive. Under his leadership, the NPA will focus on modernizing processes to keep up with both local and global industry trends.
Teamwork, fairness, and inclusivity are central to his leadership approach. Tameklo assured staff that their welfare would remain a priority. He believes that a motivated workforce is essential for achieving the NPA’s objectives. Tameklo also emphasized that the NPA’s mission must align with the vision set by President John Dramani Mahama. The petroleum sector must contribute meaningfully to national development and energy transformation.
Tameklo’s qualifications make him well-suited for his new role. He holds an LLM in Natural Resources (Downstream Petroleum) from the University of Ghana. He was called to the Bar in 2013 and has extensive legal experience. Before becoming CEO, Tameklo worked at Ayine & Partners Law Firm and served as the Director of Legal Affairs for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
As NPA’s new CEO, Tameklo plans to foster a culture of innovation, transparency, and accountability. His leadership aims to strengthen the organization’s role in Ghana’s energy sector. Tameklo’s focus on reform will ensure the NPA meets the challenges of the future.
