The Techiman High Court has dismissed a parliamentary petition filed by Christopher Beyere Baasongti, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Techiman South, against Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for the area.

Baasongti had challenged the election results announced by the Electoral Commission (EC) and gazetted on January 7, 2025. However, Adjei Mensah Korsah’s lawyer, Gary Nimako Marfo, filed a motion to dismiss the petition, citing Baasongti’s failure to provide security for costs within the required 21-day period.

The court ruled in favor of Adjei Mensah Korsah, upholding his election victory. This decision was made on February 17, 2025, after the court heard the motion.

With this ruling, Adjei Mensah Korsah’s position as the duly elected Member of Parliament for Techiman South has been reaffirmed.
