A fatal accident occurred on the Accra-bound Tema Motorway earlier today, claiming the life of a trotro drivers. The incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday, November 19, 2024. Reports indicate that several others were injured in the accident, with passengers aboard the Sprinter bus, registration number GT 4867-13, assessing themselves for injuries. Eyewitnesses reported that the Sprinter bus allegedly somersaulted as the driver tried to avoid potholes on the road. He lost control of the vehicle, crossed the median into the opposite lane, and crashed into a nearby bush. The bus was reportedly travelling from Tema Adjei Kojo Underbridge to Lapaz when the fatal accident occurred.

From what I gathered, this isn’t the first accident on the Tema Motorway this year. There was another incident in July where a three-vehicle accident caused a traffic jam on the Tema-bound side of the motorway. Luckily, only minor injuries were reported in that incident.
