FIFA has confirmed a venue change for Ghana’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic (CAR).
The match, originally set for El Jadida, will now be staged at the Stade d’Honneur de Meknes in Morocco on Tuesday, October 8, 2025.
CAR continue to host games in Morocco because their home facilities do not meet FIFA standards. The move is expected to reduce their home advantage, potentially boosting Ghana’s chances.
The Black Stars need four points from their final two fixtures—against CAR and Comoros—to qualify for a fifth World Cup.
A victory in Meknes, combined with results going their way, could seal qualification before the last match.
Officials for the game include Senegal’s Fatou Gaye as referee assessor, Morocco’s Jamal Kaouachi as match commissioner, and Nigeria’s Efughu Odochi Joan as security officer.
After facing CAR, Ghana will play Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 12.
