Former Hohoe Member of Parliament, Dr. Bernice Adiku Heloo, has passed away on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024, at the age of 70.According to reports, she died after a brief illness in the early hours of Christmas morning.
Dr. Heloo served as the Member of Parliament for the Hohoe Constituency in the 6th and 7th Parliaments of Ghana’s 4th Republic, from January 7, 2013, to January 6, 2021 ¹. During her tenure, she was a strong advocate for her constituents and played a key role in various parliamentary committees.
?Before entering politics, Dr. Heloo had a distinguished career as a development expert and was the immediate past president of the Society for Women and AIDS in Africa.She was also the founder of Prolink, an NGO in Ghana.
Dr. Heloo’s passing has sent shockwaves throughout Ghana, with many taking to social media to pay tribute to her remarkable life and legacy. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and constituents.
