Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu has emphasized that the Black Stars must not miss the opportunity to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, calling on his teammates to fight for Ghana’s pride on the international stage.
The determined right-back, who recently recovered from a long-term anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, has rejoined the national team for their crucial qualifying matches against the Central African Republic and Comoros later this month.
Speaking in an interview with Flashscore.com, Seidu highlighted his commitment to ensuring Ghana returns to its rightful place among football’s elite nations after the setback of missing out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
“We must qualify for the World Cup,” Seidu asserted. “Ghana is a great football country, and not qualifying for AFCON was a major disappointment. We need patience, but with the young talents emerging, we’ll soon be a strong and competitive team.”
