The Ambassador-designate of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Ghana, H.E. Mr. Ali Ghomeshi presented his Open Letters to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), on 11th March 2025, at the Ministry’s headquarters.
The Minister congratulated the envoy and expressed appreciation for the continued collaboration between the two countries in areas such as Health, Trade, Education and Investment.
He lauded the decision by the Government of Iran to introduce Nursing and Midwifery programmes to the Islamic University-Ghana’s curriculum.
He expressed the government’s appreciation for the humanitarian assistance Iran offered to the victims of the Kantamanto fire disaster through the Iran Clinic. In his remarks, H.E. Ghomeshi took the opportunity to express felicitations on Ghana’s 68th Independence Day anniversary celebrations.
He recounted the long-standing historic relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Ghana, indicating that he would deepen the relations during his tour of duty through Economic, Cultural, and Political spheres. He further indicated Iran’s abilities in Civil Engineering Science and Technology and how they could be of help to Ghana.
In that vein, the Ambassador-Designate encouraged Ghanaian participation in the upcoming 7th Iran Expo 2025, scheduled to take place in Tehran in April 2025. The meeting ended with both parties reaffirming their commitment towards strong ties and deeper collaboration.
