The Ladies in Parliamentary Service (LiPS), in conjunction with the Women’s Caucus, today commemorated International Women’s Day which fell on Saturday 8th March.


The event which was held at the DF Annan Auditorium in Parliament, brought together, various women groups and gender champions.


Discussions were centered on the need to accelerate actions that will ensure that women have equal opportunities and compensation with their male counterparts in the society and workplace.


The guest of honor for the event, Speaker Bagbin recounted various contributions by females across the world and called for intentional policies that will ensure gender equality and female participation in legislation and policy.
