Ghana’s government has set aside GH¢7.51 billion for the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) in the 2025 Budget. Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson announced the allocation during his budget presentation in Parliament. He stressed that this funding will drive local development and support essential community projects across the country.

Dr. Forson explained that the new allocation will empower district assemblies to upgrade roads, schools, health facilities, and other public services. This move aims to improve service delivery and enhance the quality of life at the grassroots level. The government plans to use the fund to bridge infrastructure gaps and stimulate job creation in local communities.

Analysts believe that this significant boost to DACF will strengthen local governance and foster sustainable economic growth. Stakeholders expect the funding to facilitate effective community development and drive long-term prosperity throughout Ghana.
