A tragic hit-and-run accident has claimed the life of Ismaila Emeka, a 26-year-old Nigerian pragya rider, at One Leg Junction in the Millennium City area of the Gomoa East District in Ghana’s Central Region.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, when a speeding truck allegedly struck the victim and fled the scene. Eyewitnesses later found Emeka lying motionless in the middle of the road, covered in blood.

According to his friend, Anas Chuku, the deceased had not been in good health and had planned to travel back to his hometown for medical care.

“We went to sleep last night and woke up to the shocking news of his death,” Anas recounted.

Residents of One Leg Junction have appealed to authorities to construct speed ramps and increase police patrols in the area to prevent more accidents.

Meanwhile, the Gomoa East Police Command has launched an investigation to track down the driver responsible for the fatal crash. Officers have urged anyone with information about the vehicle or the driver to come forward to assist in the investigation.

The tragic hit-and-run One Leg Junction case has left residents in grief, reigniting concerns over road safety and reckless driving in the area.
