The Ghana Education Service (GES) has taken decisive action against the Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, following a viral video that captured him in an inappropriate encounter with a female student.

According to a statement issued on Monday, September 29, the GES said it became aware of the incident after the video circulated widely on social media.

GES stressed that it takes such matters very seriously and immediately moved to safeguard the welfare of students. Mr. Aidoo was removed from office and banned from entering the school while investigations continue.

Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at GES, signed the statement, assuring parents, stakeholders, and the public that due process will be strictly followed.

“The right disciplinary measures will be applied in line with the Ghana Education Service code of conduct,” the statement noted.

The GES further emphasized its dedication to protecting students in all schools across the country. It assured that acts compromising the dignity, safety, and well-being of students will never be tolerated.

“GES remains committed to the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection. Any behavior that endangers students will be strongly condemned,” the service declared.
