Ghanaian highlife sensation Kofi Kinaata has revealed that Kumasi has become one of his biggest fan bases following a powerful endorsement from the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Speaking in an interview with NY DJ on BTM Afrika, the multi-award-winning artist shared how the Asantehene’s recognition significantly boosted his brand, leading to higher streaming numbers, more social media followers, and increased corporate event bookings.

“Kumasi is becoming a hotspot for me, especially since the endorsement came. The endorsement did a lot for me. It brought in some corporate shows, and my numbers also increased,” Kinaata revealed.

The Asantehene’s public praise, which came in September 2024, centered on Kinaata’s inspirational hit song “Susuka.” During a Ghana Bar Association event, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II highlighted the track’s strong message of gratitude, wisdom, and contentment.

He urged Ghanaians to appreciate homegrown talent and embrace the values embedded in local music.

Since that recognition, Kofi Kinaata’s influence in the Ashanti Region has grown remarkably, solidifying his status as one of Ghana’s most respected musicians and lyricists.
