Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has described the late Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka as a divine blessing to Ghana and the African continent, celebrating his remarkable legacy as a visionary leader, inventor, and industrialist.

Mr. Kufuor made the remarks when Sarah Adwoa Safo, former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya and daughter of the late Apostle, led a family delegation to visit him at his residence in Peduase. The former President reflected deeply on Apostle Safo’s life, noting that every individual is born with a divine purpose, and that Apostle Safo fulfilled his with distinction and grace.

He recalled his personal engagements with the renowned technologist during his presidency, emphasizing that Apostle Safo’s creativity and contributions to Ghana’s development were unmatched. Mr. Kufuor noted that he had once honored the Apostle with a state award for his outstanding service to the nation, although the latter could not attend the ceremony.

The former President also recounted attending one of Apostle Safo’s technology exhibitions held in Gomoa in 2024, which attracted international attention and demonstrated the global reach of his innovative works. Mr. Kufuor described him as a symbol of African excellence whose inventions continue to inspire new generations of thinkers and creators.

In his message of condolence, Mr. Kufuor praised the Safo family for their unity and resilience and urged them to give their father a dignified farewell befitting his achievements. He further pledged to attend the 40th Day Observance Ceremony at the University of Ghana, Legon, in honour of the late Apostle.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Sarah Adwoa Safo expressed deep appreciation to Mr. Kufuor for his constant support and encouragement. She reaffirmed the family’s commitment to preserving and promoting Apostle Safo’s legacy, saying they would continue to seek the former President’s mentorship and guidance as they carry on her father’s vision for technological advancement and faith-driven innovation.
