President John Mahama has nominated seven justices from the Court of Appeal to join the Supreme Court bench. This move aims to strengthen the judiciary.

Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, announced the nominations in a statement dated April 29, 2025.

The Mahama judicial nominees are: Justice Sir Dennis Dominic Adjei, Justice Gbiel Simon Suurbaareh, Justice Senyo Dzamefe, Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo, Justice Philip Bright Mensah, Justice Janapare Bartels-Kodwo, and Justice Hafisata Amaleboba.

The Judicial Council will review the nominees. If approved, the nominations will proceed to Parliament for final confirmation.
