Tragedy struck the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), on Wednesday, April 16, when a Level 100 student allegedly took his own life after a devastating discovery involving his girlfriend.

The young man, identified only as Kumi A.K.A Convoyed for now, reportedly went to visit his girlfriend, Ama, at her hostel located at GUSSS Hall Two. Upon arrival, he found her in bed with another man, engaged in a sexual act.

Eyewitnesses say Kumi collapsed on the spot from the emotional shock and distress of the scene. Later that day, he was found dead by hanging, believed to be a suicide resulting from the heartbreak.

His body has since been taken into custody by the Winneba police, who have launched an investigation into the incident.

The campus community has been left in shock, with many students expressing sorrow over the tragic end to a promising life.
