A curfew has been imposed on Binduri Township and its environs in the Upper East Region, effective Monday, March 24, 2025. The curfew, which runs from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, aims to maintain peace and security in the area.
According to the Interior Minister, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the government urges all residents, including chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, and the youth, to exercise restraint and embrace peaceful means in addressing any challenges facing the area.
Additionally, a total ban on the possession of arms, ammunition, and offensive weapons remains in force within the affected communities. The Ministry warned that anyone found in possession of such weapons will be arrested and prosecuted.
This move is part of the government’s efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region. Similar curfews have been imposed in other areas, such as Bawku Municipality, in the past.
