The Minority in Parliament is calling for strong action from President John Mahama against Sammy Gyamfi, the acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod). He was filmed giving large sums of dollars to Patricia Koranteng, known as Nana Agradaa, who claims to be an evangelist.
This incident has sparked outrage, and Sammy Gyamfi has since apologized.
Dr. Kabiru Tia Mahama, a member of the Finance Committee, criticized Gyamfi’s behavior. He described it as financial recklessness and arrogant.
“This incident reflects the arrogance, hypocrisy, and insensitivity that the NDC government under President Mahama is known for,” he said.
Dr. Mahama added that the situation is worse because it involves people who had once claimed to champion economic responsibility and anti-corruption.
“It is even more shameful that someone who promoted economic discipline and anti-corruption would engage in such actions,” he noted.
