Revoke Sarpong's GRA Appointment

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth from Tamale have strongly urged President John Dramani Mahama to reconsider the recent appointment of Anthony Sarpong as the acting Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). “The integrity of the GRA is paramount, especially in these challenging economic times. We cannot afford to have someone at the helm who may not fully represent the values and principles we stand for as a party. We call on President Mahama to revoke this appointment and instead consider candidates who demonstrate a commitment to accountability and ethical governance,” the statement emphasized.

The group highlighted specific instances from Sarpong’s past that they believe warrant a closer examination. They pointed out concerns raised by civil society organizations regarding revenue leakages and the effectiveness of past policies implemented under his oversight.
