Adisadel College has made a powerful comeback in the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), reclaiming its lost seed status after two years. The Zebra Boys stormed into the quarterfinals with a record-breaking 82 points, the highest score recorded in the competition so far.
In a thrilling one-eighth stage contest, Adisadel College dominated from start to finish against St. Hubert Seminary SHS and Serwaa Nyarko Girls’ SHS. Their performance reflected the speed, confidence, and brilliance that once made them one of Ghana’s top NSMQ contenders.
At the end of Round One, Adisadel led with 29 points, far ahead of St. Hubert’s 15 and Serwaa Nyarko’s 8. The gap widened in Round Two, where the Cape Coast-based school amassed 48 points, while St. Hubert and Serwaa Nyarko trailed with 18 and 11, respectively.
By the conclusion of Round Four, Adisadel stood tall with 69 points, as both opponents tied at 24. The team then sealed their dominance by securing eight out of ten in the Problem of the Day, ending with a remarkable 82 points.
Their victory sets the stage for an intense quarterfinal clash described by fans as a “final before the final.” Adisadel will face defending champions Mfantsipim School and five-time winners Prempeh College — a matchup that promises fierce competition and academic excellence.
Adisadel College, which last lifted the NSMQ trophy in 2016, now aims to revive that championship glory as it continues its impressive campaign in the 2025 edition.
