The CCTV footage, which has gone viral, reveals a group of men, including Jakpa, storming Ofori-Atta’s home in Cantonments, Accra.
The footage shows Jakpa, who was involved in the infamous ambulance case, arriving at the scene with a black 4×4 vehicle and a man in military uniform. He is later seen receiving a gun from one of the soldiers, which has raised concerns about the intentions of the raid.
The raid on Ofori-Atta’s home has been widely debated, with the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) accusing the former minister of orchestrating the raid to discredit the OSP. However, the emergence of this new footage has raised more questions about the events surrounding the raid.
The OSP had declared Ofori-Atta wanted for corruption and corruption-related offenses, but the former minister’s camp has denied any wrongdoing. The incident has also sparked a heated debate in Ghana’s Parliament, with members of the Minority Caucus condemning the use of the military in the raid.
