Bruno Lobo, an Olympic kite surfer and orthopedic doctor, demonstrated true heroism during a training session off the coast of São Luís, Brazil. On January 10, 2025, while testing a new camera, Bruno heard desperate cries for help from a drowning woman caught in the powerful currents.
Reacting swiftly, he approached her using his kite surfing gear, reassured her, and guided her onto his back. Leveraging his expertise, Bruno safely transported the woman to shore, where lifeguards provided further assistance. Thankfully, she was unharmed and later reunited with her friends.
The dramatic rescue, which Bruno shared on his Instagram, highlights the dangers of unfamiliar waters. In his post, he expressed gratitude, saying, “The day that God used me as an instrument to save this young woman, all honor and glory to Him.”
Bruno is no stranger to the spotlight, having won gold medals at the 2019 and 2023 Pan American Games. He also competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics, finishing seventh in the Formula Kite event.
