Head coach Otto Addo believes the Black Stars weather conditions ahead of Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic (C.A.R.) will provide his team with a vital advantage.

The crucial qualifier is scheduled for later today at the Stade d’Honneur in Morocco, as part of Matchday 9 of the African qualifiers.

Weather forecasts predict a temperature of around 28°C at kick-off — a condition that Addo feels will favour his players’ performance and overall comfort on the pitch.

“I am happy that we don’t play in the afternoon,” he told the Ghana Football Association (GFA) website.
“It’s more going late into the evening, so it’s good. This is truly an advantage for us and easier for our players to adapt,” he added.

After today’s fixture, the Black Stars will return home to wrap up their qualifying campaign against Comoros on Sunday, October 12, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Having already featured in the 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022 World Cups held in Germany, South Africa, Brazil, and Qatar respectively, Ghana is determined to secure a fifth World Cup appearance in the upcoming global tournament, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
