Police in the Volta Region have arrested four men linked to the murder of a Mobile Money (MoMo) vendor in Aflao. A joint team of law enforcement and local volunteers tracked down the suspects during a targeted operation.
The arrests took place on May 10, 2025. The Regional Police Intelligence Department (RPID), SWAT Unit, Operation Motherland Taskforce, and a community watch group called ‘ACTION NOW’ led the effort.
The suspects are Michael Sewornu, 34; Korku Agboada, 43; Atsu Agbagla, 36; and Utsuku Onyeso, 22, a Nigerian national. Police currently have them in custody and are continuing the investigation.
The incident happened on April 28, 2025, around 6:15 p.m. Five armed men attacked Christopher Ahordo, a MoMo vendor, near the Diamond Cement factory in Gbagblakope, Aflao. They shot him and escaped with a bag believed to contain cash.
The suspects are scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
Police are asking residents to stay alert and share any useful information that could help stop crime in the area.
