President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Malik Basintale as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA). Basintale, also the Deputy National Communication Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), shared his excitement on social media, thanking the President for the opportunity. He stated, “Thank you, Mr. President, John D. Mahama. We shall not fail you and the youth of Ghana!”
The YEA plays a vital role in addressing youth unemployment in Ghana by creating job opportunities and offering skills development programs. With Basintale in charge, the agency aims to enhance its mission to empower young people.

Former CEO Kofi Baah Agyepong resigned, calling his tenure an “honour and a privilege.” He appreciated the chance to contribute to the fight against youth unemployment.
In addition, NDC Communications Director Sammy Gyamfi has stepped in as the Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company. He will set up the Ghana Gold Board, an initiative aimed at revitalizing the economy.
These appointments reflect President Mahama’s commitment to strengthening key institutions. By addressing critical issues affecting Ghana’s youth, his administration aims to foster economic growth.
