Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George, has directed the National Communications Authority (NCA) to shut down some radio stations operating in Ghana. According to George, these stations are broadcasting without the necessary licenses and authorizations.

The directive was made in a letter addressed to the NCA, in which George cited the NCA’s own regulations and the Electronic Communications Act of 2008. He emphasized that the stations’ operations are in contravention of the law and must be halted immediately.

The NCA has been tasked with enforcing regulations in the telecommunications and broadcasting sectors. George’s directive is seen as an effort to ensure compliance with the regulations and maintain order in the broadcasting industry.

The radio stations in question have been publicly named, but it is expected that the NCA will take swift action to address the issue. The shutdown of these stations may have significant implications for the broadcasting landscape in Ghana and the dissemination of information to the public.
