The Ambassador of the European Union (EU) delegation to Ghana, H.E Irchad Razaaly paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), on March 3, 2025.

During the discussions, the Ambassador, stated that the EU is currently the highest trading partner of Ghana, with trading reaching over Six Billion Euros last year.

He further informed that the EU sees Ghana as a strategic partner and that they would continue to support Ghana in the Defense and Security Sectors, Infrastructure Development, Governance, Education and Human Right.

He further indicated that the delegation would work with the government and the NDPC to align the programmes of Government to theirs for optimum implementation.

Hon.Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa in his response expressed appreciation to the European Union Commission and Delegation in Ghana for the donation of high-grade military equipment to the Ghana Armed Forces in February, 2025and the support in vaccine production.

The Minister further indicated Ghana’s continued willingness to work with the EU Delegation to improve the capacity of the Ghana Armed Forces, Border Management, Infrastructural Develop among others.

At the end of the meeting, the Minister assured the EU Delegation of the Government’s commitment to work with the them for the benefit of the people of Ghana.
