Police in the Western Region have arrested three suspects linked to a gold robbery at Wassa Afransie.

The suspects — Felix Adjei, also known as Africa or Nana Adjei; Emmanuel Kelvin, a Nigerian national; and Kofi Appiah, alias Kesse — allegedly robbed workers of Mas Palasco Gold Buying Limited. They made away with gold worth GH₵199,000.00 and other valuables.

Investigators revealed that on April 4, 2025, company driver Kofi Appiah and his colleague, Emmanuel Adu, collected gold from a client at Wassa Ayiem. On their way back, armed men sprang from the bush and fired warning shots.

The robbers seized 14 pounds of gold, two mobile phones, and an unregistered Toyota Corolla. Police later found the abandoned vehicle in a nearby community.

Officers arrested Kofi Appiah at his Wassa Akropong residence on April 21, 2025. They later captured the two other suspects from separate hideouts

.During the operation, police retrieved a Jojeff pump-action gun with butt number 168316, a Calymm PDS pistol without a serial number, 25 rounds of 9mm ammunition, an AA cartridge, two G3 ammunitions, a locally manufactured pistol, and GH₵65,000 in cash believed to be proceeds of the robbery.

The suspects are in custody and assisting police investigations. They will soon be arraigned before court.
