A deadly accident at Ampekrom Junction on the Accra-Kumasi highway has claimed two lives and left others injured. The crash happened early Thursday morning near Nkawkaw.

Nkawkaw Municipal Fire Commander, DOII Samuel Mantey, said his team responded quickly to an emergency call. At the scene, they found a cargo truck, ER 3428-X, had collided with a DAFF truck parked along the roadside.

The impact killed two women instantly. The driver and another passenger suffered severe injuries. Emergency services took them to the Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw. The deceased were moved to the hospital’s morgue.

DOII Mantey advised motorists to drive with caution, especially during the Easter season. He said many of these accidents are preventable if drivers remain alert and responsible on the road.
