Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has returned to Ghana after completing medical treatment in the United Kingdom.
She arrived at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025. President John Mahama led a delegation to welcome her.
He was joined by First Lady Lordina Mahama, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Gender Minister Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, and other senior officials.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang began her medical leave on April 7, 2025, after falling ill on March 28. She initially received care at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC). Doctors then recommended further treatment abroad to support a full recovery.
She is now fully recovered and will resume her official duties in the coming days.During a Thank You Tour in Dodowa on May 16, President Mahama expressed his relief. He shared his gratitude for her recovery and praised her strength.
