The Volta Regional Education Directorate is setting its sights on national recognition as it prepares for the 2025 National Teachers’ Day Awards.
Officials in the region are confident that teachers from Volta will secure top awards at this year’s ceremony.
At a media briefing in Ho, Regional Director of Education, Francis Yaw Agbemadi, praised the determination and sacrifice of teachers in the region, stressing that their contributions to quality education make them deserving of national honours.
“Our teachers have shown outstanding commitment in their schools, and we believe their hard work will be rewarded at the national level,” he said in an interview with Adom News.
The Local Planning Committee also outlined progress toward the celebration. Mrs. Marian Jemima Akua Adzroe, Deputy Regional Director of Education and Committee Chairperson, revealed that stakeholder support has been crucial in shaping the event.
“Some generous individuals have come on board to support us financially and morally because they see the value in celebrating our hardworking teachers.
With their help, we are putting together a worthy event,” she explained.Meanwhile, Dennis Osei Owusu, Head of Public Affairs at the National Teaching Council, highlighted the various categories in contention, ranging from Best Kindergarten Teacher and Best Primary School Teacher to Best Junior High School Teacher and Best Senior High School Teacher.
He added that Special Awards will also recognise innovation, leadership, and outstanding service in rural schools.
The Volta Directorate believes this year’s awards will reflect the region’s commitment to excellence in education and provide national recognition for the efforts of its dedicated teachers.
