The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has opened registration for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, First Series. This initiative provides students with the opportunity to resit one or two subjects within a shorter timeframe, offering an alternative to the traditional full examination cycle.
Registration is open until Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Prospective candidates are encouraged to visit the official WAEC website for detailed instructions and to complete their registration at accredited internet cafés approved by the council. The examination is scheduled to take place from January 24 to February 15, 2025.
This new approach allows students to improve their grades more efficiently without waiting for an entire year for the next examination cycle. John Kapi, WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, emphasized its significance, noting that it provides a timely opportunity for academic improvement.
The examinations will be conducted under secure and standardized conditions to ensure their integrity and credibility. For more information, candidates can contact WAEC or visit their official website.
