A citizen’s anti-corruption petition has sparked tension and threats. Eric Dumenu Akatsi, who filed the complaint, says unknown individuals are now threatening his life.

Akatsi submitted the petition to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) on May 11, 2025. He questioned the source of funds in a viral video showing Sammy Gyamfi handing dollar bills to spiritual leader Nana Agradaa. The footage shows Gyamfi, seated in a luxury Range Rover, distributing cash.

Soon after filing the complaint, Akatsi began receiving phone calls from unknown numbers. Some callers hurled insults and made direct threats.
“Some of these people are invoking insults and threats as though I committed a crime,” Akatsi stated.

He suspects financial misconduct and believes Gyamfi’s bank records at Consolidated Bank Ghana need closer examination. According to Akatsi, the flashy display of money, combined with suspected large deposits, raises questions about possible corruption.

He referenced Article 41 of the 1992 Constitution, which encourages citizens to report wrongdoing and protect the public interest.

Despite the threats, Akatsi remains firm. He trusts CHRAJ to handle the issue fairly and act quickly. His petition demands a full investigation into the source of Gyamfi’s alleged wealth.

As of now, neither Sammy Gyamfi nor his company, Goldbod, has responded publicly to the petition or the concerns it raises.
