The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in the Central Region has averted a potential disaster following a petroleum tanker accident at Yamoransa. Swift action by firefighters helped rescue one trapped victim and prevented what could have been a deadly explosion.

According to the GNFS, the Regional Headquarters received an emergency call about the crash involving a tanker with registration number GT-1150-12. A rescue team was immediately dispatched to the scene.

When firefighters arrived, they found the damaged tanker parked along the roadside. One person was trapped inside, while personal belongings and spilled oil littered the area, creating both fire and safety hazards.

The crew secured the scene with safety cones, worked quickly to free the victim, and ensured that no ignition sources were present. Their timely intervention prevented a potential explosion and protected nearby residents and motorists.

Fire Service officials later praised the professionalism of the rescue team and reminded all drivers, especially fuel tanker operators, to remain vigilant on the road. They urged strict adherence to safety regulations to prevent similar accidents.
