The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has made some serious allegations against the National Democratic Congress (NDC), claiming they’re training thugs to disrupt the upcoming December elections.

According to Henry Nana Boakye, the National Organiser of the NPP, the NDC has been recruiting and training individuals in various communities, including Obuasi East constituency, under the guise of private security training.

These thugs are allegedly being prepared to disturb the electoral process and intimidate voters, particularly in the Ashanti region, which is a stronghold of the NPP.

The NPP also claims that the NDC is supporting illegal miners to cause confusion in the elections. Apparently, a secret meeting was held between the NDC committee on mining and some NDC-affiliated small-scale miners at the conference hall of Mawuli Hotel in the Obuasi West municipality.

It’s worth noting that these allegations come amidst tensions between the two parties, with the NDC also making accusations against the Electoral Commission and the NPP.

The Lawyers in Search of Democracy (LINSOD) have also expressed concerns that the Electoral Commission is in cahoots with the NPP to rig the December elections.
