In his inaugural speech on January 7, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama sent a clear message to the business community, assuring them that Ghana is once again open for business.

“To the business leaders and entrepreneurs, I invite you to support this new model and join me in shaping a business environment where creativity thrives and the fruits of your investments contribute to the collective welfare of our nation,” Mahama stated, underscoring his administration’s focus on fostering economic growth.

Mahama emphasized the importance of creating a stable and business-friendly environment that will drive economic restoration. He committed to improving the macroeconomic landscape, enhancing the investment climate, and providing the support necessary for businesses to flourish.

“Your role in driving our economy forward cannot be overstated. Your innovation and dedication will be the backbone of our success story,” Mahama remarked, acknowledging the critical role entrepreneurs play in the country’s development.

A key highlight of the President’s address was his vision for a “24-hour economy” aimed at stimulating local industries, creating jobs, and attracting foreign investments. Mahama explained that this model would empower young entrepreneurs and ensure that every Ghanaian could contribute to the nation’s growth.

“In this vision, we will unlock potential that has long remained dormant, allowing us to harness the energy and creativity of all our people,” Mahama added.

The President also pledged to review and rationalize the country’s tax regime, ensuring it is transparent, fair, and conducive to business growth.

“We are committed to creating an inclusive, equitable society where everyone has a seat at the table,” Mahama concluded, reaffirming his government’s commitment to building a prosperous future for Ghana through collaboration with the business community.
