Joyce Bawa Mogtari, Special Aide to President John Dramani Mahama, has expressed her firm belief in the newly appointed team’s ability to fulfill the high expectations of Ghanaians.
Speaking during an appearance on Channel One TV, Mogtari shared her optimism about the President’s new appointees and those still to be appointed, saying, “I feel humbled and deeply grateful to God for this day. Expectations are very high, and I am confident this team will deliver.”
Her remarks came shortly after her arrival at the Black Star Square for the inauguration of John Mahama and his Vice President on January 7, 2025. President Mahama, who was sworn in on January 7, 2025, had announced several key appointments the previous day, including Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu as Acting Spokesperson, Dr. Callistus Mahama as Executive Secretary, Prosper Douglas Bani as Head of the Interim Security Taskforce, and Augustus Goosie Tanoh as Presidential Advisor on the 24-hour economy and export development. Mogtari lauded these appointees as exceptionally skilled, calling their selection “one of the best decisions ever made.”
In his inaugural speech, President Mahama outlined four priority areas under his “Reset Ghana” agenda: economic recovery, business environment improvements, governance reforms, and the fight against corruption. He also reassured businesses and investors that Ghana would maintain an open, fair, and transparent tax regime, promising the creation of well-paying jobs for the youth.
“This is a new beginning,” Mahama declared, calling on all Ghanaians to unite in building a prosperous future.
