The Special Voting exercise in the Western Region has commenced smoothly across all 17 constituencies. Over 5,000 eligible voters, including security personnel, Electoral Commission staff, journalists, and others with election-day duties, are taking part in the process.
Reports from various polling centers indicate that voting began promptly, with no significant delays or issues. At the District Assembly polling station, TV3’s Ebenezer Atiemo noted that five voters had already cast their ballots by 7:15 a.m. Voters described the process as “smooth and orderly.”
Abraham Mensah, Special Aide to the NPP Essikado-Ketan Parliamentary Candidate, arrived at the Brigade Hall polling center at 6:00 a.m. and praised the efficient arrangements. “We are hopeful for an incident-free exercise and expect the same on Saturday,” he said.
In Takoradi, at the Police Canteen polling station, a small queue had already formed before the polls opened at 7:00 a.m. Electoral officials confirmed that all materials were in place to ensure a seamless start.
From Ellembelle, Abigail Akorfa Adasia of Westend Radio reported that 20 out of 221 registered voters had cast their ballots by 7:20 a.m.
At the St. Anthony of Padua Church polling center in Kwesimintsim, representatives from both the NPP and NDC were present, monitoring the process. They expressed satisfaction with the arrangements, sharing light-hearted banter about the potential election outcomes.
