A Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) officer is in police custody for breaching electoral laws during the special voting exercise.

The officer, stationed in the West Mamprusi Municipality, was reportedly arrested by local authorities after allegedly photographing his completed ballot paper. This act contravenes Ghanaian electoral laws, which strictly prohibit the sharing of marked ballot papers.

Preliminary reports suggest the officer intended to use the photograph as proof of his vote.

He is currently being held at the Walewale Police Station while investigations into the incident continue.
